indha ranagaLathulayum..

In what I believe is a truly demoralizing state of health, I had to visit Manipal hospital in a vain effort induced by a semi-slain hope. While awaiting my turn to visit the doctor and contemplating on the meaninglessness of the all the meanings humans make out, a pretty girl passed by. Suddenly, my soul perked up pushing much pressing topics to the back burner.

A much familiar voice quipped in my mind - "indha ranagaLathulayum oru kiLukiLuppu kEkkudhu?!"

Absolutely Lovable

For now, there isn't a better prototype for me. I have developed immense respect for her. Hope she can survive without compromising. Well, anyway, she isn't too worried about surviving.
Check out this link to get a taste of her thoughts and there's a fair chance of you joining her fan club, as well.

manidhar uNarndhukoLLa...

Guna had crazy beliefs and an amazing conviction. It's not the kind of belief but, the kind of conviction that separates us from him. All of us have crazy beliefs. But, we think we are clever and sacrifice our conviction in order to not appear crazy. But, remember, it's only your conviction, not your belief that gets rewarded. Ah!, the joy of Abhirami accepting his love in spite of the craziness attached to it. Ah, bliss!

Good grief!

Place: Bangalore City Junction

I were as lost as Harry Potter in search of platform 93/4. With a heavy bag and after much running, exhausted, I paused for a moment to catch my breath. A wise guy walks up to me, of all the people in the station, to ask - 'Arsikere train?'

I couldn't hide my amusement :-|

Cruel Hope

Amon Goeth: This is very cruel, Oskar. You're giving them hope. You shouldn't do that. *That's* cruel!

Lost territory 2 - the refugee citizens

They were the kind of citizens most other kingdoms craved for. And, of course, the native kingdom took great pride in them. Rightly, they had occupied the prime territory and had flourished along with the kingdom.

As one would expect about anything largely envied, the kingdom was cast a spell over and darker days ensued. The kingdom got plagued with an unfathomable illness/infiltrators and they struck a telling blow on the much cherished territory and its citizens. The king was, I repeat, neck deep in frivolity; in vanity of his accomplishments; living in past glory turning a blind eye to the impending doom. Before he could get off his hangover, the kingdom was already ruined. The much loved citizens were dead in heaps. Their territory was incinerated and poisoned leaving no chance of revival. Some of them managed to escape and live like scavengers in the underbelly of the kingdom. Some brave souls managed to hold their ground although, they knew they wouldn't last long there.

Now as the king is awake, ashamed and alarmed, a self-hating furious anger takes over him. He ought to be punished for his callousness towards his subjects. But, he just can't do that for there is none but him to protect the rest of the survivors; to restore the state of affairs. The king takes a vow and declares emergency. He is gonna cleanse every single germ in the system. The prosperity of his cherished territory shall be restored. The citizens who are living like misplaced refugees shall return to their home. Trade, education, arts, love and science will flourish.

The plan is simple

  1. Stem the rot - no indulgent activity that would open the doors to further damages
  2. Protect the survivors - the survivors are the greatest source of inspiration and hope! They deserve respect, admiration and care.
  3. Guide the misplaced - the cowards who fled to stay alive and have formed underground colonies are not the kind the kingdom would encourage. They shall be converted and reinstated.
  4. Resurrect the dead - That's where the wise old minister comes in. The king used to often ignore him, in pride and arrogance. But, the lessons of time have served the king well to know better what's good for him. The minister is sure to do the trick for the King.
Interesting times ahead!

Some summary

One of my very favourite lines, cast to summarize mine and a majority of human life. Every time I fail to break the jinx, I get back to admiring the everlasting validity of its prophecy.

From Tagore's, 'The Postmaster':

"Alas for our foolish human nature! Its fond mistakes are persistent. The dictates of reason take a long time to assert their own sway. The surest proofs meanwhile are disbelieved. False hope is clung to with all one's might and main, till a day comes when it has sucked the heart dry and it forcibly breaks through its bonds and departs. After that comes the misery of awakening, and then once again the longing to get back into the maze of the same mistakes."

Once I'm done with admiring, I go back to challenging it and thus, validating it in an ironical way!

The prank

It's like communicating with Sully's Na'vi avatar without the knowledge of Sully. It's fun, it's tricky and it's really risky. A rare case of perpetration where the victim would suffer nothing while the perpetrator might end up crucified. Wish me luck!

About me

People have been wonderful in misunderstanding me. That's alright. Go ahead!
