A two year old beaver has to leave its mother and the relatively cloistered home. Its mother won’t let it stay home anymore. So, it sets to travel into the wild until it would find a companion for itself with whom it would find a suitable location to build their lodge. Danger lurks all through its quest. It gotta be wary of foxes, wolves and bears. Hurdles test its spirit. But, it eventually manages to make a family and a lodge for themselves.
I don’t wanna spew venom on people who get their marriage arranged (by parents). Probably because I am not quite sure if I would escape its splattering. Nevertheless, I can praise people who craft their life in their own way with commendable zeal and zest.
She had found her partner long back. It was a mystery why they hadn’t got married yet. Then out of the blue, she announced her marriage. She needn't have announced though. The sparkle in her eyes said it all. And then, she got busy enough to teach the beavers some humility. Her kith and kin did limited help validating my analogy. But, nothing can dampen her spirit; from designing the wedding invitation to finding a new home…. she took it on the chin. Imagine a girl hopping between shops accompanied by none, weeks before her wedding! She is an epitome of the old-fashioned American women or the modern Indian women. May the force be with her as she ventures into a new phase of life. Wishing the couple a very happy married life…
IMO, the role of parents in an arranged marriage is not very different from that of a pimp’s. And the bride and the groom are losers who think it is their parents’ duty to get them a partner. I mean, at least make an effort man! Oops… venom’s leaking. I’ll stop here.

Beautifully written.. nice start to the whole story...

ReplyDeleteTime is ruthless. It will rob you off yourself and will make you believe you were born that way. But, as long as you have vivid memories of your hey-day, you can resist giving in to your surroundings. This post will serve you in your war against time.
ReplyDeleteI second it!
ReplyDeleteBeing aware of the uncertainity that lies in the future, and still being helpless, not that you can't do anything about it, but to be even more courageous to face the hurdles that come your way is perfectly defined in the book of life. And that is what we remind ourselves as "HOPE" :)
A hope that one day we'll surely get there.
Wishing you both the best of everything you desire!!!
